New Year, New Challenges

Hey everyone!

So I was so backed up with reviews that I'm finally starting to review books that I started in January. That being said I also made my Goodreads goal.

Last year I surpassed my goal of 60 and ended with 69. This year I made my goal 70.

On Pinterest I found a 2015 reading challenge. That I will keep you updated on at the very bottom of each post. Here is the challenge:

New Year Reminder

Hello everyone!

Since it is a new year and I have new readers I want to remind everyone what this challenge is and I'm going to do that by reposting my very first post, or most of it.

"Hi, I'm Mackenzie. First thing that you should know is I'm an avid reader although I don't always read very fast because of school work and such, but I love to read. So I discovered this Animal Alphabet Challenge. You take an animal name for each letter of the alphabet and then for each letter of the animal's name you read a book that begins with that letter. Sounds kind of confusing but I hope you'll understand in a few moments. So I found this challenge as I was reading The Hobbit so I have already taken the liberty of filling out one of my h's. Also, as I go I'll provide my views on the book. So here are my list of animals:

Summary

Hey there!

So I just wanted to let you all know that from now on I'll include a summary of the book because sometimes it's hard to understand the context of my review without it. It'll be right below my little blurb at the top and above the book cover. Feel free to bypass the summary if you just want the review. I personally never read summaries before I read a book because I don't want it to give too much away, so usually I walk blindly into a book.

Three times a week

Hey everyone!

So I've been very overwhelming with the reviews lately because I have a lot of lost time to make up for. But for my sanity and the sanity of my readers I'm going to post at least three times a week instead of everyday. So I'll post on Monday and my Monday post will be a book review. Then, I'll post on Wednesday and I'll pose a literary question that may require some deep thought and will probably require some reader participation or you can just think about it on you're own and not discuss it. Finally, on Friday I'll probably do a Q&A or ask for some recommendations. So it would be GREAT if everyone could send me questions throughout the week so I can have something to post about on Fridays. If by chance no one feels like speaking out I will catch you up on what I'm reading and how far I am in that book. I'll see you tomorrow with a literary question!

New FUN rules

Hey everyone!

I've decided to add some flair to my blog. I don't know if I've said this before but when I finish an animal I plan on writing a whole post dedicated to just that animal with pictures and fun facts and such! I'm hoping that adds some more excitement to the blog. Also, when I write a review of a book I'll post a picture of the cover so if you so choose you may find the correct book. Finally, my two year-old nephew, Desmond, is learning his letters and it is absolutely adorable. So when I finish a letter now I will try to post a video of him saying the letter. He doesn't always cooperate and I don't always see him. Or I'll post some other cute video of the letter somehow...?

I have finished F, P, and X. He doesn't know what X is yet. BUT I do have a video of the letter F. This post is brought to you by the letter:

Add On

Hey everyone!

I'm adding a little extra project to my reading challenge. I added an "s" to every animal, except the animals that need "es"s. Just thought I'd give myself a little extra challenge, if I have time for it.

Also, I'm going to be changing the way I review books. I'm going to give a short, non-spoiler alert summary because I feel like just giving you a review doesn't do much.

Guidelines

Hey there! So I haven't actually set any rules for my challenge. I don't really have any other rules to set other than that all books from now on have to be more than 100 pages. There was only one book I read that I counted that was less than 100. But from now on that's my rule. Oh and no rereads unless it was before 2010. If you have any other suggestions for rules let me know.

As for The Two Towers it's going a lot faster than The Fellowship of the Ring. Hopefully, I'll finish soon.
